Being charged with the responsibility of planning national priorities and directing the course of national development; the National Planning Commission has been coordinating the implementation of the Second National Development Plan (NDP2) - a five years plan - whose main objectives are to: reduce Poverty; create employment; promote economic empowerment; revive and sustain economic growth; reduce inequalities in income distribution; reduce regional development inequalities; and promote gender equality and equity. As part of the implementation process of Vision 2030 and as NDP2 period comes to an end, the process of formulating NDP3 is well underway.
