The major function of this division is to provide statistics in the area Agriculture, Prices and foreign Trade Statistics; and National Accounts.

Agricultural Statistics

This sub-division provides data relating to the Communal (subsistence) agriculture through the Annual Agricultural Surveys conducted by the CBS in collaboration with the Directorate of planning in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development. Prices and Foreign Trade Statistics

This sub-division is responsible for the publication of a monthly bulletin of Consumer Prices Indices and Inflation. Currently the Interim Consumer Price Index for Windhoek approximates the consumer price index, pending introduction of a National Consumer Index latter.

The sub-division also provides data on international trade, i.e. imports and exports of merchandise. The statistics supports the government policy on openness with the aim to develop, promote and diversify the country's exports, to expand and consolidate market shares of existing markets and to penetrate new markets. National Accounts

This sub-division is responsible for the provision of statistical data required for socio-economic plan formulation, policy making, and decision taking, for monitoring and evaluation of economic performance and development.
